Shared Viewership is Here!
Twitch has rolled out Shared Viewership as part of its Guest Star/Shared Chat feature. Here's what you need to know:
- Discovery Impact: Combined viewer totals will now appear in discovery surfaces, boosting visibility for participating streamers.
- Strict Enforcement: Twitch promises tight controls to prevent viewership abuse. Keep it clean and collaborative!
This update is a great opportunity to collaborate with fellow streamers and grow your community while staying compliant with Twitch’s guidelines. Here's more info direct from the Twitch blog:
Shared Viewership will impact your ability to be ranked higher in Discovery, as it is the best representation of what a viewer should expect to experience. In the future we plan to add these metrics to Stream Summaries so streamers can understand how collaborations impact their growth and reach.
So.....if you and another person use stream together, and maybe you each have a separate scene like a "stalker scene" that shows the other person's scene without audio, then your chats will be combined and your viewership will combine thereby BOOSTING VISIBILITY IN DISCOVERY. Who wants to try it with me?!?!

- Identify Your Strengths: Highlight the categories and streams where you had the most growth. This is your blueprint for what works. Now give yourself a pat on the back for the WORK you put in!
- Emotes: Which were your top performers? Maybe it’s time to retire some that aren’t getting used and create more like your top ones!
- Engage Your Community: Share your recap on socials to celebrate your milestones and connect with your audience. Thank your top viewers and raiders and show some love!
